Speaker: Manuel Oliver, Artist and Activist, Change the Ref

Moderator: Luis Miguel Messianu, Creative Chairman-CEO, Alma

Session description:

Manuel Oliver left Venezuela in the middle of all the turmoil to bring his family to America in search of a better life. Little did he know that precisely there he would lose his son and best friend Joaquin in the Parkland school shooting. With admirable courage, resilience and vision, both Manuel and his wife Patricia have become activists determined to achieve gun law reforms in order to avoid more casualties like Joaquin’s.

Moderated by Luis Miguel Messianu, creative chairman of Alma, this session will see both Manuel and his son – in the form of the first ever 3D printed stature – enlist the help of the creative industry to help drive their powerful message.

Not to be missed.

Questions this session will answer:

In the search of a real purpose that can change the world for the better, what can the creative industry do to change gun laws in the world?
